LEAN-4-LIFE NUTRITIONAL PROGRAM TIP
Drinking water, it seems so easy. Yet many of us fail to drink the recommended 3-4 Liters (depending on the intensity of your WOD) per day and water is absolutely essential to fat loss. Besides fat loss what we have to remember is that muscles are made up of 75% water and the brain is made up of 80% water so for optimal performance it is imperative that we stay hydrated. When fat cells are hydrated they are more likely to be called upon by the body as an energy source, thus reducing fat stores… Hurray! The liver is a very important organ in the oxidation (burning) of fats; therefore if the liver is hydrated it is able to work at its optimal capacity. Many people can mistake the bodies signal for a drink as one for hunger therefore we should always try having a drink before heading for food in order to make sure we are not eating unnecessarily. A distended abdomen full of water can also trick the body into thinking it is full.
- Water is essential for optimal brain & muscular performance
- A hydrated liver burns more fat
- The bodies call for water is often mixed up with the call for food, try having a drink before eating
